In
1625 St. Vincent De Paul founded the Congregation
of the Mission (more commonly known as "Vincentians")--a
community of priests and brothers to evangelize
the poor in the footsteps of Jesus Christ.
He wanted his missionaries to go everywhere: "Go! Go into
the whole world and proclaim the good news
to all creation."

Almost
400 years later Vincentians serve in over
86 countries to follow Christ, Evangelizing
the Poor. Learn more from the "Quick Pick" menu at left (with the

In
1981 the Midwest Province Vincentians, USA,
responded to an invitation from an African
bishop to train men from his country to work
in seminaries and among the poor. In 1999,
we opened our own seminary in Nairobi.
Today
the VINCENTIAN
HOUSE OF FORMATION at DePaul Centre in Nairobi,
Kenya, prepares Kenyans to be priests
and brothers as members of the Congregation
to serve the rural poor.
These seminarians will continue Vincent's
dream and the world wide missionary call
of the Gospel to the Church of Africa.
