Charitable Gift Annuities
A Charitable Gift Annuity is a simple way to support the Congregation of the Mission Midwest Province (“The Vincentians”) as well as provide a great benefit to you, the donor.
-
You gain a guaranteed, fixed annual income for the rest of your life.
-
You receive a charitable tax deduction for the first year in which the Gift Annuity is established.
-
A large portion of your income will be tax-free.
-
Upon death, the remaining principal is transferred to the Congregation of the Mission Midwest Province, which continues your legacy of generosity beyond your lifetime.
The amount of the income tax deduction depends on the donor’s age, date of the Gift Annuity purchase, the donor’s life expectancy and the number of lives that will benefit from the annuity.
There are several different types of Gift Annuities:
-
The Single Life Gift Annuity is based on just one person’s life, whether it is the donor’s life, a friend’s life or the life of a relative of the donor.
-
A Two-Life Gift Annuity allows a second person to receive the same payments after the primary annuitant’s death for the rest of his or her life.
-
A Deferred Gift Annuity offers a charitable tax deduction now while it secures a higher rate of return later when it is most needed, for example, in retirement.
The Congregation of the Mission Midwest Province has established the minimum age requirement of 50, and a $5,000 investment requirement for all Gift Annuities.
