  Vincent de Paul, Antoine Portail, Francis du Coudray and Jean de la Salle sign an agreement to live together in community, in service to the poor country people.

September 5, 1833

 

Bishop Leo de Nechere, CM, of New Orleans dies while caring for the victims of yellow fever. He is buried in the sanctuary of St. Louis Cathedral.
