Walk in the Footsteps of St. Vincent de Paul

Vincentian Heritage Tour of France — May 31 - June 12, 2011
What would it be like to walk the same streets as
St. Vincent de Paul, to see the places where he lived, worked and now rests in peace?
The Congregation of the Mission Western Province is pleased to offer you the opportunity to deepen your understanding of our patron, St. Vincent de Paul, by participating in a guided Vincentian Heritage Tour. The tour will take you to various locations throughout France that are associated with the life and works of St. Vincent.
The 13-day tour, which begins with five days in and around Paris, offers a unique perspective of famous landmarks and locations such as:
- The Cathedral of Notre Dame
- The Vincentian motherhouse, including the magnificent chapel containing the remains of
St. Vincent
- The motherhouse of the Daughters of Charity, with its famous Miraculous Medal Chapel
- St. Vincent’s birthplace, near the city of Dax
- Perouges, where the movie Monsieur Vincent was filmed
- Chatillon-sur-Charlarone, with its 11th century castle ruins and the Gothic church where
St. Vincent was pastor
- Many other sights meaningful to Vincentian heritage
Your Guides
Two of our own Vincentian priests will serve as your tour guides.
Father Edward Udovic, CM, Ph.D.
Fr. Udovic serves as Secretary, Senior Executive for University Mission, and Vice President for Teaching and Learning Resources at DePaul University and is an Associate Professor in the Department of History. He also serves as the Presiding Officer of the Vincentian Studies Institute of the United States. Fr. Udovic has led numerous heritage trips to Vincentian sites in Paris and throughout France.
Father John Rybolt, CM, Ph.D.
Fr. Rybolt is a Life Trustee of DePaul University and serves
as the Vincentian Scholar in Residence at the university’s
Office of Mission and Values. He
is also a founding member of the Vincentian Studies Institute of the United States. Fr. Rybolt is a world-recognized scholar on St. Vincent de Paul and Vincentian history.
Price and Logistics
The price of the tour is $4,136 per person. This cost reflects a 10% discount for all who join the tour, compliments of the Congregation of the Mission Western Province. The tour includes air transportation from St. Louis or Chicago to Paris, all land transportation by deluxe motor coach, accommodations based on double occupancy, sightseeing and admissions fees, many meals, and all taxes and
gratuities.
