Welcome Tom Beck!
A native of St. Louis, Tom attended Catholic grade schools and high schools, ultimately graduating from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. With his CPA designation, he has worked in the corporate sector in accounting and finance for 26 years, working primarily in Chief Finance Officer positions for several companies, including Emerson Electric in St Louis. Most recently for the last three years, Tom had a tremendous commute to Atlanta, Houston & Chicago while his family resided in St. Louis. In August, however, the opportunity to work for the Province came to him and he quickly acted. "I was looking for an opportunity to be in St. Louis and have a challenging and meaningful position and I found that with the Vincentians," Tom shared. This job is a perfect fit for Tom as he and his wife Karen had intended to do volunteer work and community service for the poor upon retirement. "I have always had a desire to do charitable work and specialty works with the poor," he states. "This organization is full of great people doing really good works and I believe that this is my calling and my way of contributing," he concluded. Tom and Karen have been married for 23 years and have three children in college right now! Jeff, at age 22, is a senior and David, age 20, a sophomore, both at the University of Missouri-Columbia. And, their 19-year-old daughter Kelly is a freshman at Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield. Please take some time to introduce yourself to Tom and welcome him to our Provincial Offices next time you are in Earth City. Vincentian is published bimonthly by the Midwest and Southern Provinces of the Congregation of the Mission, the Vincentian Priests and Brothers, to promote the apostolic works of its members and those of the larger Vincentian Family.
