Toshio Sato

Rite of Welcome

Toshio Sato is the Province’s newest seminarian beginning his first year of formation at Perboyre Mission House in Chicago. He publicly professed his intention in a ritual ceremony September 9, 2005. In the context of sung vespers, a Miraculous Medal was placed around Toshio’s head as a public reminder of his commitment. The service concluded with a short reflection by the Vicar for Religious of the Archdiocese of Chicago. Over 60 guests attended the festivities and dinner. Many of those attending were local confreres, Daughters of Charity and Vincentian family members including alumni of the Gateway Vincentian Volunteer program where Toshio volunteered last year. Toshio joins Jeremy Dixon who entered formation last year at this time. Both men are pursuing a life in the priesthood and attending classes at Catholic Theological Union in south Chicago. Please welcome him.

The Vincentian is published bimonthly by the Midwest and Southern Provinces of the Congregation of the Mission, the Vincentian Priests and Brothers, to promote the apostolic works of its members and those of the larger Vincentian Family.
