Prayer Ministry Adds Christmas Blessing

Since 2006, the Vincentian Prayer Ministry Program has been a way of expressing thanks to you for sharing in the work of the Vincentians. It also allows you to give the gift of prayer to your loved ones.

This Christmas, you can enroll your friends and loved ones in the ministry of prayer so that they will be remembered at Masses and through daily prayers and offerings by the Vincentians of the Midwest Province. In today’s world, the gift of prayer is among the most important and meaningful gifts one can give – or receive. The Vincentian Prayer Ministry Program is an opportunity for you to express your support for a family member or friend on a special occasion, during an illness, or at a time of death and loss.

As we approach the celebration of the birth of Jesus, the Vincentians have added a Christmas card to the Prayer Ministry Program. During the Christmas season, you are invited to renew your love for God and for each other. By sending your loved ones a Christmas prayer card, they will be remembered for one year in the prayers and offerings of the senior Vincentians.

Each time you send one of the enclosed cards to a loved one and return the response envelope, you will be sent a replacement card, so you always will have a special gift on hand!

The Vincentian Prayer Ministry Program is based at St. Mary’s of the Barrens in Perryville, Missouri. Many missions have had their beginnings at this historic and holy place, but this one is special. Many of the retired priests and brothers living at the motherhouse have spent their careers going wherever their ministry took them. Now, in their senior years and perhaps with physical infirmities, they have found a meaningful ministry in which they can serve from their home.
