Celebrating 350 Years

350th Anniversary

September marks the beginning of a jubilee year for the Vincentian Family: the 350th anniversary of the death and resurrection of St. Vincent de Paul and St. Louise de Marillac, founders of the Congregation of the Mission. During the next year, celebrations will take place around the world to honor and reconnect with the charism embodied by these spiritual eaders.

The anniversary logo expresses many dimensions of this year-long event. The flames of various colors, in four sets, suggest four horizons and the world of diversity. The flames are situated to create a dove, the biblical symbol of the Holy Spirit, as are the flames themselves. The flames are also a symbol of charity and are represented in the seal of the Daughters of Charity. The theme “Charity and Mission” provides focus for reflection on the founding principles of the Vincentian tradition.

The Vincentian is published bimonthly by the Midwest and Southern Provinces of the Congregation of the Mission, the Vincentian Priests and Brothers, to promote the apostolic works of its members and those of the larger Vincentian Family.
