December 2006 “He has sent me to evangelize the poor”

Welcome, Cindy Rohde

Cindy RohdeThe Congregation of the Mission is pleased to welcome Cindy Rohde to the Midwest Province. Cindy joined the staff as a part-time administrative assistant in the development office in September.

In her new role, Cindy is responsible for managing the new Vincentian Tribute Program (see cover story), coordinating prayer requests with the priests and brothers at St. Mary’s of the Barrens. She also will coordinate the administrative aspects of the Parish Missionary Cooperative Plan, in which Vincentians speak at parishes in various dioceses about the Midwest Province mission in Kenya.

Cindy most recently worked in information technology positions for several major corporations in St. Louis. She sought out the opportunity with the Congregation of the Mission after deciding she wanted to use her project management skills in a more people-oriented environment. “I was looking for a smaller, close-knit environment, a place I could make a difference on a daily basis,” she says.

Family is a priority with Cindy, who has been married for 18 years and has three daughters in middle school. A devout runner, she has run five miles a day for 25 years. “I run on vacation, in all kinds of weather, indoors and out. But one thing I’ve never done is run in a race, which surprises people,” says Cindy. “I just love to run.”

It’s no surprise the Congregation of the Mission Midwest Province is glad to have her on the team.

The Vincentian is published bimonthly by the Midwest and Southern Provinces of the Congregation of the Mission, the Vincentian Priests and Brothers, to promote the apostolic works of its members and those of the larger Vincentian Family.
