Piano RecitalsTo Benefit Our Senior Vincentians And Catholic EducationFr. Milton Ryan, C.M. will present a series of solo piano recitals for the benefit of Catholic education in southeast Missouri and for the Vincentian community whose work of evangelization in the area began in 1818. The first recital is in Perryville at the Park Center Theatre on January 10th at 3pm. The proceeds will help fund Catholic education at St. Vincent's Schools in Perryville.
The third recital is in the Schuck Recital Hall at the River Campus of Southeast Missouri State University on January 21st at 7:30pm. Any free will offering will help fund Vincentian retirement. The recital program includes the works of J.S. Bach, Franz Joseph Haydn, Frederic Chopin, and Sergei Rachmaninoff. Fr. Milton is a Vincentian priest who served as pastor at St. Vincent's Church in Cape Girardeau from 1995-2001, and currently serves as Associate Pastor at St. Vincent's Church in Perryville. Regarding the spaces for the recitals in Cape Girardeau, Fr. Milton comments, "both locations are close to the heart of the Vincentian Community which first arrived in Southeast Missouri nearly two hundred years ago. The chapel of St. Vincent's Seminary has been transformed into a wonderful recital hall for Southeast Missouri State University's River Campus. Jesus Christ in the Eucharist continues to nourish the faithful at Old St. Vincent’s. Music has filled both of these sacred spaces with a universal language of spirit, calling priests, and inspiring the faithful to serve Christ in the poor after the example of St. Vincent DePaul. I hope to honor all the priests and brothers of the Congregation of the Mission who have served in Southeast Missouri and to support the work of Catholic evangelization in our schools.” |
