We invite you to join us on a journey of faith and service. Next June, 12 to 15 volunteers from Missouri, Illinois and Iowa plan to travel to Kenya to work at St. Vincent's Nursery School and the Rescue Center in the Kibera Slum. Their journey of 7,000 miles begins with YOU. You can help fund their mission trip and touch the lives of children and families in Kenya.
The volunteers plan to travel to the Kibera Slum, the largest urban slum in Africa with nearly 1 million people. They will apply fresh paint, fix broken furniture and make other necessary improvements to the Rescue Center, which takes in abandoned children from the slum. The team also will do minor construction work at St. Vincent's Nursery School.
We invite you to pledge your prayers and support to help make their mission trip possible. Please make a gift today to help cover travel expenses, room and board, transportation to and from the mission sites and the supplies necessary to complete the project.
Your support is a gift to children in desperate need in the Kibera Slum. These improvements will provide a suitable environment for continued personal growth and learning. Education is the only way out of poverty for many of these children.
Your generosity will help our volunteers bring the joy and peace of Jesus to those they serve. Please remember our volunteers, and those they will serve, in your prayers in the coming months. Thank you for your support.
"Our vocation, then, is not to go to one parish, or even to one diocese, but throughout the whole world, and for what end? To inflame the hearts of men, to do what the Son of God did. He came to cast fire on the earth, to inflame it with His love.”
- St. Vincent de Paul
