Fr. Chris Robinson, C.M., teaches at DePaul University in Chicago and offers up his most important consideration when discerning a vocation to religious life–does it make you happy? He explains how he came to his vocation and tells a story about a beautiful experience of empowerment and solidarity in a poor community during his time in noviate.

“God doesn’t need us to run the world, but he wants us to be happy,” he says.

He said he has found great happiness in his work as a priest and suggests that members of religious communities can only be effective in their ministries if they are happy with the lives and work they have chosen.
