The Congregation of the Mission Western Province held a dedication ceremony and open house for its new Provincial Office on Dec. 4, which included a Rite of Blessing celebrated by St. Louis Archbishop Mitchell Rozanski.

The Congregation moved from its former location in Earth City, Mo., in July of 2021 after 25 years in that location to the new location at 3701 Forest Park Ave. in Midtown St. Louis, adjacent to Saint Louis University. The new offices occupy the lower level of the Aquinas Institute of Theology under a facility sharing agreement.

“This move will enable us to have a stronger voice for the poor in St. Louis and a better opportunity to develop relationships and partnerships in mission with the local church and other religious communities,” said Provincial Superior Rev. Patrick McDevitt, C.M.

In addition to Archbishop Rozanski, the dedication ceremony included remarks from Fr. Mark Wedig, O.P., President of the Aquinas Institute; Sr. Catherine Norris, D.C., Visitatrix of the Daughters of Charity Province of St. Louise; Fr. Steve Grozio, C.M., Provincial Superior of the Congregation of the Mission Eastern Province; Don Fulford, President and CEO of the Association of the Miraculous Medal; and Dr. A. Gabriel Esteban, President of DePaul University in Chicago.
