Fr. Rajesh Lakra, C.M., says he overcame a period of self-doubt in the seminary in his native India at age 17 by following the advice of his seminary director and immersing himself in prayer for days. At first, he was told to pray for three days; little did he know that was only the beginning. Now Parochial Vicar at St. Vincent de Paul Parish and St. Pius V Parish in St. Louis, he admits that the exercise “purified” his vocation in the same way the Apostles purified theirs by serving Jesus Christ.
