your support makes a lasting impact

in the lives of the poor in Kenya and for our Senior Priests and Brothers

In 1981, the Vincentians of the Western Province went to Kenya and established a mission to serve the poor and form clergy native to the region. Today, in the new Vice-Province of Kenya, the need is still great. Our Vincentian parishes also have a strong tradition of supporting our senior priests in the U.S. who have given so much during their lifetimes. Please consider supporting our 2022-23 Parish Appeal.

13 Houses

Nearly 400 years ago in Paris, St. Vincent de Paul received an endowment from Louis XIII and used it to build 13 houses to care for abandoned children, house people living in the streets, care for war refugees, and more.

Today’s 13 Houses initiative by the Famvin Homeless Alliance has built more than 2,200 houses in 55 countries. This year’s Parish Appeal supports a 13 Houses project in Nairobi, where housing insecurity is a major problem, as well as the transportation, education, and formation needs of our seminarians in Kenya.

Your support is needed for

  • Construction costs for housing
  • A van to transport our 34 seminarians to their assignments
  • The Emmaus Program for ongoing formation of diocesan priests in Kenya and Uganda

Bless Those who Bless You

Senior Vincentian priests and brothers have devoted their lives to working with the poor, preaching the Gospel, and teaching in seminaries. Today in the Congregation of the Mission Western Province, more than 50 senior confreres are in need of support and care, 30 of them in the Apostle of Charity Residence at St. Mary’s of the Barrens in Perryville, MO.

Even in “retirement,” these men remain active members of the community, conducting missions, celebrating Mass, taking part in prayer ministry, producing scholarly work, and much more.

Your support is needed for

  • Nursing and medical expenses
  • Food and other necessities
  • Transportation, recreation and outings
  • Continuing service
